Jackfruit Flour Idli

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups idli rice

  • 1/2 cup urad dal (black lentils without skin)

  • 1-2 tbsp jackfruit flour

  • Salt as required

  • Water as required

Method:

  1. Soak the urad dal and rice separately in water for 2-3 hours.

  2. Grind the urad dal and rice into smooth batters, adding water little by little.

  3. Mix the two batters well and add salt. Let the mixture ferment overnight.

  4. Add the jackfruit flour to water to make a thick batter.

  5. Mix the fermented idli batter and jackfruit batter.

  6. Steam the idlis in an idli maker for 10-12 minutes.

  7. Serve hot with chutney and sambar.
