Jackfruit Cutlets

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups ripe jackfruit, mashed

  • 1 potato, boiled and mashed

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tsp cumin powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil for frying

  • Breadcrumbs for coating

Method:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the mashed jackfruit, potato, onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste and spice powders. Season with salt.

  2. Divide the mixture into lime-sized balls. Flatten each ball into a patty.

  3. Coat the patties with breadcrumbs from all sides.

  4. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the jackfruit cutlets until golden brown on both sides.

  5. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with mint chutney.
